Burning shit sucks alot...

Hey Guys,
So today was my first full day of class, and it went buy quicker I imagined. All my classes were amazing, so hopefully they stay that way.
So, I was running late today, but I decided that I had to have breakfast at home. First because a healthy diet always starts with breakfast and Second was because I wanted to save money.
I decided to make over-easy eggs because it's really easy to make.
You put a hot skillet on a stove. Put some olive in it and wait until the skillet gets hot.
Then, put the crack the egg, and allow the egg to immediately fall into the pan.Cook the egg to your desired "doneness", and then you're done. Put it on a piece of toasted bread... add some salt and pepper then it's yumyum delish. That's the way over-easy eggs are suppose to be made...
Well, I am a complete dumbass and burned it. The instructions for over easy eggs were not very difficult. I've cooked 7 course meals perfectly, but I BURNED EGGS! Who does that? What makes this story even worse is that I still decide to try and eat my nasty burnt eggs. Meanwhile I'm coughing because the whole apt smells like smoke, so I'm putting the fan on before the fire alarm wakes people up.
FINALLY, the smoke clears a little although the stench of burnt food is in the air, and I decide to sit down and the food that I cooked.
I am humble enough and secure in my cooking abilities to admit when I fucked a dish up. Those eggs were so nasty. They were so burnt. It tasted like i just put pure charcoal in my mouth and said "yum! Now that's what I call a breakfast". I tried washing it down with water, but it was soo not working. I think i needed a shot of scotch. Not that it would wash the taste out of my mouth, but maybe I'd get drunk so I really wouldn't care what the eggs tasted like.
NEVER EVEEEERRRR leave eggs unwatched, because that shit will burn.

I ended up not eating at home and eating those mini-muffin things from Hostess that I got at the school corner store. I love the chocolate mini muffins. I remember when I tried to give them up. 2 months later, I bought like 4 boxes and then I called my friend and I'm like "Astrid?! I don't know why I'm not losing any weight!!!", while I shoving more muffins in my face while I speak to her. I did drink orange juice though which is good. People are in this caloric frenzie which I too have fallen victim to eat. It's not all about the calories. Calories are one thing, but the vitamins and nutrients that you are getting from it are more important. If you're getting those essential vitamins and nutrients, you're becoming healthier in which your metabolism improves, and your weight is regulated. If you can, buy Fortified Orange Juice. It's good because they add Calcium to your orange juice. It already contains Vitamin C which is good for your immune system, as well as potassium. It also contains magnesium which is good for your bones. ( Thanks Dr.Seibert and Linda Hittleman for teaching me BioNutrition!! and Soc/Cult Nutrition) <-- shout out

Moving right along... did you guys catch the VMA's?
I just want to say YAY BRITNEY!! She's awesome!! I'm so proud of her. She looked so amazing yesterday in that dress. It was awesome!
The yummiest person of the 2008 VMA's would have to be.... Chase Crawford. He is so sexy. Some people have guilty pleasure crushes... like they have a crush on someone but they don't want to say it, because it would be embarrassing. A guilty pleasure crush would be Zac Efron, any of the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez etc... AND YOU SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED!!!!
( they're just not my thing... they're a little young and Zac Efron is just.... nvm)
But someone like Chase Crawford is a yummy crush. He's like tofutti ice cream. It's delish because it's ice cream. It's organic, lactose free, and maybe even vegan. It's like perfect... maybe even too perfect. Its so indulgent- so bad that it's good....like Chase Crawford. ( Johnny I love you :] )This is why he is the yummycrush of the week.

Below is the link if you want to check out Tofutti products. I'm unfortunately, lactose-intolerant, and it sucks because I ABSOFUCKING LUTELY LOVE ICE CREAM! it's an desire... it's an obsession. Tofutti doesn't taste weird like other soy ice creams do, so try it.
I love the cuties ice cream bars... delish

I'll talk you sexy people later.

Always peace and love,
Tricia

Hungry and I want Creme Fraiche

WOW!! It's 5:00a.m.

I was just so excited about this blog, so I must keep on writing.

I was really hungry before, but I figured it was too late to eat something.

I ate anyway... it was only one slice of whole wheat bread. It was delicious.

You know when you're hungry and just about anything you ate would be delicious? I was there. What I really wanted was some creme fraiche.

Creme fraiche is like a french sour cream. It is to die for. It is made by using one part sour cream, and one part heavy cream. It is mixed until the heavy cream is fused into the sour cream. It's super simple, and delicious. It tastes like really really plain yogurt to me.

It's really yummy on berries, but my favorite is when it's on something hot.

I love yin and yang in food, like food in the Japanese culture.

Paula Deen has this amazing recipe incorporating creme fraiche.

This should be the first sentence in this section, but whatever - here it is...

Paula Deen is the cutest thing ever. I feel as if she could be like my friend. She is many many years older than me, but let's be serious, she will forever be young at heart, and as corny as that is... it is true. We would have crazy fun though. We would cook, bake, talk about cute boys. I love how she's such a player on her show Paula's Party. She is the female food version of... Bob Barker when he was on the Price is Right. ( Shout out to Bob.)

She always has cute boys on there like Cameron Mathison from All My Children on Abc, that wannabe a soapstar show on Soapnet, and Instant Beauty Pagent on Style. He has a lot of jobs. I would make a Ryan Secreast joke about the job thing, but that's played out.

* You know who else is really cute... Tyler Florence from Food Network, but I guess we'll get to that at a later date...trust me... I can write a whole lot about him ;)

Back to how Paula's a pimp...

She lures all these cute boys with her amazing food, and then they're in love with her. I want that to work for me ;).

I love how unapologetic she is in the ingredients that she uses. She's been quotes in saying that three ingredients she can't live without are butter, mayo, and cream cheese, but let's be serious...who can live without those?

Like I go into my health freak-outs at times and buy all all fat free and reduced fat ingredients but in all honesty we all know that it doesn't taste good as the real stuff!!

Paula has this great recipe that includes creme fraiche.

It's her take on mashed potatoes, and then the creme fraiche is served on top. The potatoes are cooled by the creme fraiche and it is most definitely melt in your mouth yummy!!! Here she serves it with Scallops, but it makes a definite side dish.

Check it out!!

P.S. People in my house are definitely drunk, and it is hilarious.
